Loving, caring, sharing, kindness, compassion, empathy, respect, equality, freedom, peace, critical thinking, logic, reason, understanding, science…
This is the problem with lots of religions and religious leaders, they are unwilling to change. One thing I like about Yogi Bhajan that some old school, traditional, Indian Sikhs hate, is how he embraced new ideas, technology, experiences and ideas. He didn’t stick to the old traditions if there was no reason for it…like how he embraced raw vegan diet when ghee is touted as something similar to the holy grail.
Change is the one thing we can all count on. Not everyone is will to accept that. Culture, tradition and religion are many people’s ways of holding on to the unchanging past; physically, mentally and spiritually. If only they would take the time to apply some logic, reasoning, critical thinking and understanding, change would come so much easier, and could be swayed in a direction that benefited all; not just a small few.
