how did you attach the wood to the metal?
I only shared the photo, so I can’t be sure. My guess wold be screws and glue. If you know someone that works with wood, they would probably have a better answer for you. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.

I believe you would only need screws and glue for the doors. The rest of the unit appears to be just a constructed “box” and then the fridge is dropped in place. then the frame around the top covers up the space between the fridge and the box walls. Seems to be a pretty simple build but a really awesome repurpose.
