Zeitgeist: The Movie

zeitgeist the movie cover poster

This film is considered quite controversial by some, factually flawed by others, and a representation of what’s wrong with the world today by many.  The film’s creator, Peter Joseph, explains what the movie is and is not in this interview.  I think “Zeitgeist: The Movie” is a great source of food for thought and conversation no matter which camp you find yourself in.  I’m also including this link to the 220 page PDF file “Zeitgeist: The Movie Companion Source Guide” for those of you interested in sources and research of your own.

The Corporation

The Corporation

The Corporation is a 2003 Canadian documentary film written by University of British Columbia law professor Joel Bakan, and directed by Mark Achbar and Jennifer Abbott. The documentary examines the modern-day corporation, considering its legal status as a class of person and evaluating its behaviour towards society and the world at large as a psychiatrist might evaluate an ordinary person. This is explored through specific examples. Bakan wrote the book, The Corporation: The Pathological Pursuit of Profit and Power, during the filming of the documentary.

Above is the blurb from Wikipedia.  I originally watched this film on demand via Netflix, but is currently not available.  You may want to try Amazon Prime or some other streaming movie service.  If none of those are an option, try checking with your local library.  If they don’t have it, request that they get it.  Below is the trailer and complete film.  😉
