I See All This Potential…

Modern Money Mechanics

Here is a link to the pdf file, Modern Money Mechanics (a booklet produced and distributed free by the Public Information Center of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago), and below is a video clip (from the documentary “Zeitgeist: Addendum“) that explains the process of money creation as documented in the MMM booklet.  There are some really great quotes in there.

Be Water, My Friend

“Don’t get set into one form, adapt it and build your own, and let it grow, be like water. Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless — like water. Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup; You put water into a bottle it becomes the bottle; You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.”
– Bruce Lee

October 2nd

As if the month of October being Domestic Violence Awareness Month wasn’t good enough, October 2nd is the International Day of Non-Violence.  Could it be a coincidence that October 2nd is also Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday?  I think not.  😉

Be the change you want to see in the world.

The future depends on what we do in the present.

Is a world without violence such a hard thing to imagine?  We have far more in common than our disagreements would lead us to believe. We all want to be respected. We all want to be loved. We all want to be part of something. The good news? We are all a part of something; the human race. Now all that’s left to do is love and respect one another.  Violence?  Not even a part of the equation.

“Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you.”

Taoism:

“Regard your neighbor’s gain as your own gain, and your neighbor’s loss as your own loss.”

Rodney King:

“Can’t we all just get along?”

.

Nothing to it, but to do it.  No more verbal hobbies.  We all need to put these words into action.  Be kind to one another, respect each other and love one another.  Now go play nice.  🙂

Happy Birthday Gandhi!

Ron Paul: “They’re Setting The Stage For Violence In This Country”

Cynical People

Oh Sugar-Sugar

I read a quote somewhere the other day and it reminded me of a story from one of my favorite books.  The book:

“Way of the Peaceful Warrior”

by Dan Millman

The story:

~

A mother brought her young son to Mahatma Gandhi. She begged, “Please, Mahatma. Tell my son to stop eating sugar.”

Gandhi paused, then said, “Bring your son back in two weeks,.” Puzzled, the woman thanked him and said that she would do as he had asked.

Two weeks later, she returned with her son. Gandhi looked the youngster in the eye and said, “Stop eating sugar.”

Grateful but bewildered, the woman asked, “Why did you tell me to bring him back in two weeks? You could have told him the same thing then.”

Gandhi replied, “Two weeks ago, I was eating sugar.”

The quote:

Be the change you want to see in the world.

-Mahatma Gandhi
