Peter Parkour: Honorary Sister (Sisterhood Of The World Bloggers Award)

sisterhood-of-world-blogger-award1I’m sorry I didn’t get this post up sooner, but this has been one heck of a busy week here.  With that being said, thank you, allyhope18, for bestowing me (Ha! Tea ‘n’ Danger) with the Sisterhood Of The World Bloggers Award.  I’m glad to know what I’m putting out there is being received and appreciated.  Hopefully some of it is being passed on and shared as well.  I’m also very happy to hear that you recently decided to go vegan, and while I may not have gotten you to that point, it’s awesome to know that I’ve been a part of your journey.  🙂

allyhope18Allyhope18 is new to blogging and veganism.  Her first post at Hope “Full” Vegan hit the web on 04/25/2013.  She’s 18 years old, on the verge of graduating from high school (if not already), and using her blog to chronicle her culinary adventures in veganism (lots of pictures) and anything else life might throw her way.  So, whether you’re new to veganism, an old pro with wisdom to share, or just looking for some tasty treats , give her a visit.  😉

Everyone, I’d Like You To Meet, Spud

Two weeks ago today I came home to find a squatter camped out in my dining room.  Rumor has it he had been there for at least a couple of weeks.  The good news is that he found his way to my doorstep thanks to my friend, Teeni, from over at Aunty’s Tea Room; so I didn’t have to worry about changing the locks.  😉

Spud posing for his mugshot.

Spud (short for Spider-Bud) is now a welcome addition to the family.  Spud is actually my reward for having participated in and winning a contest over at Teeni’s place.  I also designed the badge for her “Crochet-A-Thing-A-Week-For-A-Year” challenge (Yarndango).

Since then Teeni has relocated Yarndango over to the Mad Crochet Lab.  If you or someone you know is a fan of crocheting, the Mad Crochet Lab is full of great project ideas, patterns, pictures and everyone is welcome.

Here are a few of the amazing creations that have come out of the Mad Crochet Lab:

And let’s not forget my favorite bud and the birth place of Spud:

Thank you so very much, Teeni.  😀

MIA: Update

It would appear that HTnD is going to be a feast or famine style blog with me out here working on the road.  I’ll post as much as I can, when I can, and hopefully a balance will emerge from the chaos.  If not, I will continue to do what I can, when I can, and hope that it is enough to keep you coming back.  😉

Our van is back up and running.  The motor needed to be replaced and then it turned out there was a bit more that needed work before we got back out on the road.  In total we were down for just over a week.  Since then it’s been feast or famine work (leaning heavily to the famine side).  To find a balance in that department would be nice too.  Whatever the case, we’ll make the best of it.

Thanks again to everyone that has been sharing their favorite HTnD finds with the world at large.  Sharing is caring.  🙂  It’s always nice to see visitors coming here by way of a reblogged post, Tumblr, Twitter, Pinterest…  Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Love, Peace & (((((HUGS)))))  :)

MIA

Sorry I haven’t been around lately.  I went from being super busy, to recovering from a vehicular breakdown; still in the recovery phase.  More on that at a later date.

I wanted to send a “Thank You!” out to all of you that have been sharing some of your favorite Ha! Tea ‘n’ Danger finds with your friends, family and the world at large.  During the days I was missing in action, Ha! Tea ‘n’ Danger received more traffic than the previous week, and the previous week was a good one—so thank you all very much for doing your part to share the love and peace.  Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Love, Peace & (((((HUGS)))))  🙂

Will You Do The YARNDANGO?!?!?

My bloggin’ bud, Teeni, over at Aunty’s Tea Room recently did a poll/contest to name her new crochet project.  She’s going to be doing a crocheted amigurumi a week for a year straight.  Teeni is inviting everyone to go check it out, and for crafty folk like herself to join in on the fun.  The project name, Yarndango, was the suggestion of yours truly (I WON!).   Read all about it HERE.  There’s even a snazzy little Yarndango badge (I made that 🙂 ) you can sport on your blog’s sidebar to show your support and/or participation.  You can check out the Yarndango badge by clicking HERE.  Teeni has even completed and posted pictures of her first project (dedicated to ME for winning the contest).  It is sooo cool.  You can check it out HERE.  Whatever the reason, get over there and check out her blog, because she’s always got something fun going on over there.  Enjoy.  😉

Where’ve You Been? July 2012 Edition

For those of you following this adventure, I’ve already managed to squeeze in a couple of small visits with my dad.  He still hasn’t had a date set for his surgery, and I’m not sure if they are going to.  The doctor said my dad’s looking as good if not better than he was two years ago.  The cause of his illness is still a mystery.  They are keeping a close eye on him and they’ve taken him off of some of his medications (not because he’s doing so much better, but because of poorly prescribed meds, and experimental musical chairs ” how do you feel now?” type stuff).

Work has been going well; better than expected.  Re-beginners luck?  Time will tell.  They’ve been keeping us much busier than this poor blog can handle.  Sorry for the potholes around here.  I keep meaning to do a bunch of pre-posting, but I’m always lacking the time, the energy, or both.  In my line of work I never know when the next job is coming, where it will take me, how long it will take, or how much time I will have off once that job is complete (this can literally be minutes, hours or days).  Hopefully I will find some balance in the near future.  🙂

Peter Parkour: Vegan

Update: 07/03/2012

The following is not bad news, but it’s not good news either.  I’ve been putting this off for about a week, hoping that a better option would present itself, but without a doubt my fate is sealed.  Tomorrow, Bunny and I will be boarding a plane to take us 2,000 miles away (less as the crow flies, further as the plane flies).  Our local job wasn’t keeping us afloat, so we’re going back out on the road.  We will be attending an orientation/refresher class Thursday and Friday, and then we’ll be cruising 48 states once again.

We really wanted things to work out at home, but the work just wasn’t adding up quick enough.  However, there is a silver lining, if you can call it that.  My dad’s (lives in Florida) health has been a bit erratic lately.  He spent a few days in the hospital recently, and has some surgery to look forward to (yeah right) in the near future.  This change of jobs will give us a chance to go visit him.  That was not an option with our local (Arizona) job.

Anyway, I’m going to set up some posts ahead of time tonight, so HTnD will continue on its semi-regular schedule (for now), but updates on Facebook, Google+ and comments most likely will experience some lag time.  I will do my best to keep the posts coming as smooth as possible, but this job (expedited, on demand delivery) is a feast or famine line of work, not to mention internet access on the road can be hit or miss even with your own WiFi hotspot.  I will pre-load posts every chance I get, and comments will be first on my to-do list when my computer makes an appearance.  If all goes well, you will hardly notice any differences, if any.  🙂

No promises, but if anyone would be interested in a face-to-face meet-and-greet, shoot us an email and we’ll add you to the list.  The better I know you, the more likely a meeting is to happen.  That, and factor in the unpredictability of my job versus your schedule…  it could happen.  😉  Please include the name I know you by, and city and state I might find you in, and a good email and/or phone number to reach you at (with # include name to ask for).

Cinco de Mayo Weekend

Normally I drive for a living: 18 wheeler, straight truck, cargo van, car…  Anyway, I’ve been out of work since early February.  I’ve been hoping and searching for a job that will allow for more home time.  I’ve spent the last month jumping through hoops trying to secure a new job.  As of early last week, rumor had it I finally got the job, but it’s an on-call position.  As of Friday night, May 4th, I had yet to get so much as a call when suddenly the phone rang.

Finally, my… our first job.  As usual, Bunny (my sweet, loving angel of a wife) and I are working together.  This first job looked like it should take about five hours (from the time we leave our house, until we get back) from start to finish at most.  It’s a city to city, in state job.  That’s what all of the jobs I signed up for should be like.

Right after delivering our load they offer us a second job picking up ASAP.  This one would take us two states away.  I had no idea such work would or could even be an option.  We accepted immediately.  Sooooo…  what started out as a quick run turned into a two day and two hour road trip.  The blog suffered a two day hit, but all is back to normal…  for now.  😉
