    Origen taught that Satan would eventually repent & be forgiven. Rabbi Acha b. Yaakov preached that Satan acted only out of the highest motives, & Satan was reportedly grateful to have that understood. (Walter Wink’s riff on all this in _Unmasking the Powers_ is excellent)
