Even more fitting with the cross looking like a gravestone.

A little dark, a bit ominous, strangely vague, but thanks anyway, Grundy, for stopping in and for taking the time to comment. ;)

I’ve just been thinking about the rising numbers of atheists and the declining church turnout. Projecting into the future, those religions might die. Sorry for the vagueness.

No problem, I just didn’t want to assume incorrectly. That’s a mighty big “might” to which you refer. I’m not so optimistic, but can definitely see a great shift in numbers taking place. I think there will always be some believers out there; even if their places of worship begin to crumble under the reality of dwindling membership (and money said members bring to the table).

      Great followup, Grundy. Thanks again.

When the numbers dwindle enough, there will probably come a tipping point when holding on to a minority belief seems silly. I’m not saying religion will vanish, but the current version will likely go away…eventually. Not in our lifetime though, so no point in making bets. :-)

When the time comes that we transition to a resource based economy, and the profit motive is removed from religion, I’m sure that will speed up the process. ;)
