People are always asking me about where I’m at, where I’m going, and where I’ve been. Here’s my response:
From the last time I was in Arizona until the next time I was in Arizona, these are all the states I visited in order.
Arizona, North Carolina, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona.
For those of you that are more visual I’ve included a map. My travels have been highlighted in dark green.

Since my last ‘Where’ve You Been’ update life’s been a bit crazy. The following is the short story:
Finding work hasn’t been easy so we decided to go back to trucking. Before long we realized getting back into trucking wasn’t going to be very easy either. So I sold most of my worldly possessions and then Bunny and I moved to Florida.
We rented our place in Arizona to family and moved in with my dad and step-mother in Florida. We flew. That’s how North Carolina got so green on my map.
Shorty after getting to Florida we get news that Bunny’s parents were involved in a car accident. They were ok, but they were driving our car that we left in their care. They hit an ice-cream truck that pulled out in front of them after just being stolen.
Finding a job in Florida is even harder than finding a job in Arizona, and living with my step-mother was hell, not to mention our concern for Bunny’s parents, so our stay in Florida didn’t last long. About a month in total.
The day before we headed back I got news that my older niece’s (my younger niece is the one that got shot) ex-boyfriend (father of her youngest son) was shot and killed just the day before. From what I understand he had just recently been making some effort to be a part of his son’s life.
The next day we find ourselves heading west via Greyhound Bus. That explains all the other green states. Oh, and… NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!! Greyhound sucks! We should have flown, but we felt we couldn’t afford it. I now know I can’t afford to ride the bus ever again. Very hard on the body and mind.
When we get back home our house is still being rented out, so we end up renting a studio apartment. Good times. A few weeks later we get our car out of the shop. It looks good as new, but doesn’t run quite the same anymore. We still have about a year to pay on it.
Anyway, there you have it. That’s why I’ve been missing in action for so long.
Thank you very much, to all of you that attempted to make contact while I was away. I just couldn’t bring myself to do much of anything during my dark hours.
Still working my way back.
Show's over folks.

"Has anyone seen my rude little pig, er, um, I mean my daughter?"
"Hey, does anyone want to go out after the show for burgers and drinks?"
"Pssst... hey O. J.... you're a piece of SHIT!!!"
"You could be."

JQ14 here. It’s been too long. I sure missed you and am so sorry to hear of all that you and Bunny have gone through. Times are so hard right now but I hope you know I’m here for you, even if you just want to vent! I know what it feels like to have those dark moments and I’m glad you are making your way back. If there is ever anything I can do, please just tell me. You know you and I are old school babes! {{{HUGS}}}
Thanks Mabs.
I’m not very good at the venting, but I’ll try to do a little around here from time to time. I gotta let it out somewhere.
But I will definitely keep your offer in mind.

JQ is right. Times are tough. I’m watching my son go through tough times but at least he’s drug free. Hasn’t worked in a year. He was thinking of going to Florida but I’m sure he would have a tough time there too.
As a mother-in-law living with her son-in-law (he isn’t working either) I have learned that we get along great if I keep out of their business which I do. Jobs are very scarce on our island. We are very fortunate that my daughter has such a great job and is able to support us all.
I am so sorry to hear of your dark times. I can only imagine how difficult it must have been for you. It’s hard to keep up a sunny attitude when You aren’t working and there aren’t even any jobs around.
I’m really glad you’re back and I think it’s good to have a place to vent and I know we are all here for you. I don’t know what I would do without my blogging friends.
Hey Joan.
Yes, times are so very hard, but I’m glad to hear that most everyone is at least ‘getting by‘ if only barely.
We all just gotta hang in there.

Sounds like a truly craptacular year, Spidey, my friend. Here’s hoping 2010 will bring the universe back in alignment for you.
I missed you alright but I knew you were gone because of rough times and that’s what was so frustrating: knowing you were going through a rough period and being unable to help in any way.
Glad to have you back here where you belong–among friends.
Thank you so very much, Trisha.
So nice, so sweet. Thank you.
Come on 2010!

Good to see you alive and well! I have been kinda MIA form my blog as well, but I’m hoping to make it back into the writing scene. Thanks for the award. I hope to see you around more often.
I hope to be getting around more in the future too.
Good to hear you’re making your way back too.
And you’re welcome for the award.

Oh, man, rough times. I’m so sorry you went through all of this, and I’m just glad you are ok, I was worried.
You always want to write about something new and fresh, but you also want it to be good news. Not stuff like this. I would have loved to make a comeback six months ago with a Powerball winning, but that just wasn’t in the cards.
Still, it’s good to be back.
Thanks THFTG.

Sorry about all the rough times, and I can personally concur with you about Greyhound – NEVER AGAIN. Hopefully times will become easier for you soon!
When the buses weren’t breaking down, the crazy people on the buses were.
You know what I’m talking about.
Thanks Em.
Hopefully the good times are right around the corner.

Sounds like your only pleasant event was the stop off in NC! We are friendly folks here! Maybe a move to NC might be in order!
Perhaps if we had a little more time in NC we could have called it pleasant, but unfortunately it was only a brief touchdown. Bunny and I have driven through NC a couple of times, but never had any quality time there. So before we plan a move, maybe a vacation there is in order.
Thanks for stopping in, LUACM. I hope you enjoyed your visit. Feel free to stop by any time.

Man, what a crazy situation for you these past months! I think hanging tough and getting by are so freakin under-appreciated. Kudos to you for being able to write again. And you’re right … Greyhound totally sucks!
Glad you’re back, buddy!
– Sue
Glad to be back.
Thanks Sue. Fear the Greyhound everyone. Fear it!

Gosh, that sounds just awful. I’m sorry you’ve gone through all this. But what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger- so I’ve heard.
Seems everyone I know is going through huge change this year. I hope and pray that you and Maryjane (Bunny) pull through this stronger, tighter and better than ever.

I forgot to mention that I love riding Greyhound. It’s filthy and the people are fucking weird.
It’s fabulous!

The smell of urine (you forgot the smell of body odor and breathing breath that’s not your own) adds to the ambiance, as do the sound of wet coughs, crying children and foreign languages.
I love watching the world pass. I love witnessing the strangeness of others. I love the stoicism of most Greyhound drivers (sometimes they go off and I love that too!)
It’s inspiration in bus form. Also, I’m weird.
I’m guessing trips from OR to CA aren’t near as traumatizing as trips from FL to AZ. That could have something to do with it too. I don’t think I’d mind shorter trips near as much.
I remember making trips by myself when I was younger (11-12ish) from AZ to TX and back, and I actually remember those rides fondly. But now as a 38 year old, 6′-3″, 300+lb man, it’s just way too much to take. It was torture on the knees. That alone would make me think twice.
I’m sure the strange folk in moderation are inspirational, but moderation is the key.
It’s all good, C. I like you just the
weirdway you are.Peter Parkour
