It Makes Me Smile

I partook in a meme a while back called the “Insight Into My Heart” meme.  The idea was to post a song and/or video that tugged your heart strings and made you cry.  The brains behind this meme is Little Miss, and you can trace the roots of this meme back to here.

Well ever since I did this meme I’ve had my own similar meme idea in mind.  At the opposite end of the spectrum, that song and/or video that puts a smile on your face no matter what kind of mood you are in. I’ve even had a song and video in mind this whole time.

It’s been a few years now, but anyway, a while back I rented a video from Netflix.  On that video was a trailer for a computer animated cartoon that looked interesting, so I added it to my que of videos to rent.  It was called “Mr. Stain On Junk Alley”.  Not the most catchy name in the world, but it looked interesting and funny.

The day finally came and the video was here.  Bunny and I watched it.  It wasn’t exactly what we imagined (a bit on the violent side, not for little kiddos), but it was still enjoyable.  Strangely my favorite part of the video was at the end of each episode.  As the credits rolled, it would give a recap of the characters in the episode, giving you their names, because there’s no talking in the show itself, just sounds, noises and music.  So anyway, this recap was also accompanied by this cute little song.  It’s in Japanese, but infectious non the less.

Once you got past the character introduction it goes to a street scene with all of the possible characters dancing to that infectious little ditty.  These ending credits only lasted for about a minute, but I looked forward to them every time, and watched them faithfully.  Weird huh?  The credits were better than the show. I got a kick out of it, and it put a smile on my face every time.  It even got the booty shakin’.

So after I got to thinking about this meme idea I headed over to YouTube to see if I could track down a video clip to share.  The end result was this:

During my quest I also found out the name of this tune and the name of the band that performs it.  The song is “Tandem” by Halcali.  You can actually go here to hear the whole song.  On top of that I also found a “Mr. Stain On Junk Alley” music video for “Tamdem”.

And for those of you that still haven’t gotten enough of “Mr. Stain On Junk Alley” I even managed to find what appears to be a complete episode for your viewing pleasure.  It’s only seven minutes long.
