People are always asking me about where I’m at, where I’m going, and where I’ve been. Here’s my response:
From the last time I was in Florida until the next time I was in Arizona, these are all the states I visited in order.
Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Texas again, New Mexico again, Texas again, Oklahoma, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Illinois again, Indiana again, Kentucky, Tennessee, Kentucky again, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas (the odometer hit the 500,000 mile mark somewhere between Missouri and Kansas), Missouri again, Iowa, South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, California, and then back home in Arizona.
For those of you that are more visual I’ve included a map.
My travels have been highlighted in dark green.

Sorry I haven’t been writing much lately. I never feel like I have enough time. I tend to write my posts right before publishing them, but I’m gonna take it easy on myself from now on. I’m gonna start writing stuff, and I’ll publish said stuff when I get around to it. That ought to take some of the pressure off of me, and hopefully result in better writing.
As the title of this post implies, I just got back on the road after being off for a week. I was at home for a whole week, because my mom was going in for surgery. She was having her plumbing worked on to improve her quality of life. She went in on 03/24/08 and got out on 03/27/08. As far as we can tell, all went well. She’s back home, up and moving around. As for the plumbing, it’s not really a topic of conversation I enjoy, so I don’t ask too many questions. No complaints as of yet. That’s a good sign.
I got home early 03/22/08 around 2:30am, and we got back on the road on 03/29/08 around 3:00pm. It’s good to be back on the road, but as always, it just keeps getting harder and harder to leave. Especially after my mom just got out of the hospital. Since mom just got out of the hospital, taco night (mom’s usual weekly ritual) was replaced with pizza night. Pizza night took place at my sister’s house. Both the pizza and the new location were nice, and the family get together went well.
Even though I was home for a whole week, we got less done than we usually do with just three days off, because every day my mom was in the hospital, I spent the majority of my day there. I would get up, get ready, and go to the hospital. The day would end with me stopping at my mom’s house on the way home, so I could feed her cat. Then I would go home and go to sleep shortly there after.
Once my mom was out of the hospital I did the same as above, but instead of going to the hospital I just went to my mom’s house. For entertainment I bought the first season of “Heroes” and my mom loved it. We managed to watch five of the seven DVDs. It’s such a good show, I really enjoyed watching them all again. I’m looking forward to my next home time so we can watch the last two DVDs.
My next days off should be in Florida in about four weeks. My dad has a condo right on the beach, and he’s gonna be spending a week down there during the time I’ll be there. That means I’ll be spending three days at said condo. I can’t wait. That should be a very relaxing mini vacation. Hopefully there won’t be any health scares while I’m there this time. I’m keeping my fingers crossed until then. ![]()
