Valentine’s Day Chicken Massacre

February 14, 2008

I’ve have a riddle for you. I’m posting the riddle right now and the answer to the riddle in a few days or so. As always, this one requires some participation. I need at least three responses to the riddle before I post the correct answer. Enjoy.

  • The scenario:

An elderly woman living out in the country is having problems with her computer. Remembering a commercial from TV she knows she’s just one phone call away from having a highly qualified computer technician in her home making all good as new.

She goes gets out her phonebook, calls the store, tells the person that answers that she’s in a real bind and if they could send out their best guy to help her out. Once off the phone she starts doing chores around the house until her techno savior arrives.

A few hours later she hears a vehicle coming up the drive and looks up from her task of washing and drying dishes to see a man in a Volkswagen Bug coming to a stop just behind her pickup truck. She hurries to finish up the last few dishes before he rings the bell.

After finishing with the dishes the lady starts putting some last minutes touches on the kitchen, straightening up and putting things in their place. At this point she realizes about five minute have gone by and the gentleman had yet to ring her doorbell.

She looks outside and his car is still there, but he’s not in it. Maybe the doorbell isn’t working she thinks. She opens the door, but he’s not there either. She goes out into the yard looking for the man and as she rounds the corner of her home she sees the man out behind her house, by the chicken coop fiddling with the latch on the door.

As she comes up behind him she says “young man, is there anything I can help you with?” and just as these words left her mouth in horror she realized that all of her chickens were dead, with their heads missing.

  • The question:

How did this happen, and why?

I’m eagerly awaiting your responses. Thank you and good luck.
