February Movie Picks

My movie picks are not based on reviews, nor are they based on things I’ve heard or read. They’re simply movies that I would like to see. I’m not even giving them ratings. I’m just saying they look interesting to me. In the even I do see said movies, I’ll let you know what I thought.

Two movies coming out in February have caught my eye. The most recent info available says they are both coming out on Thursday, February 14th, despite what you see on one of the movie posters.

The first movie is “Jumper”, rated PG-13, and it’s about a guy with the ability to teleport. That was enough to sell me. Sounds kind of superhero-ish, so you know I’m in. Throw in a schnazzy trailer and Samuel L. Jackson as one of the main characters, and I’m rubbing my hands together in anticipation. The second movie is “The Spiderwick Chronicles”, rated PG, and it’s about a boy who finds himself responsible for safeguarding a book for an ogre that’s up to no good. With the help of his brother and sister they discover the fantastical world around them, filled with magical creatures of all shapes and size.

I enjoy movies where the real world meets fantasy, and this one does just that literally. It’s based on the bestselling series of books by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black. If you’d like to check out the official site for the movie click here.
